Tonight I finished by book. My first novel. The first time I have ever finished writing a whole frigging book. There is a book in the world now, a story with a beginning and middle and, best of all, an end, that wasn’t there before and I created it.
I knew I was getting near the end this week and my deadline of sorts to finish was by Sunday. Why Sunday? Because on Monday mine and Fiona’s family start to arrive from England, Spain, Australia and South Africa because next Saturday is our wedding.
My to do list this week has been 1) write wedding vows 2) find nice wedding shoes 3) finish last week of school with sanity still intact 4) finish writing novel.
The week after our wedding we are going on a holiday in the south of Turkey. I am gonna read a million books, drink white wine in the sun, cuddle my wife and finally, finally relax.
For anyone else who has finished writing a book did you find you were really hungry afterwards? I think it might be the adrenaline leaving my system and making me woozy.
